Three large medical centers to be opened in summer

When will the Radio-Isotope center be opened in Yerevan? Most likely it will be opened this summer. Armen Muradyan, the Minister of Healthcare of the Republic of Armenia, answered this question which strongly interested the journalists during yesterday’s press conference following the Cabinet meeting. “Today a government’s resolution was passed connected with furniture, amenities, equipment, and preservation expenses of the Center and I think we will manage to complete the works in some two or three months,” he said.

The Minister noticed that this summer, during July-August, three large medical centers will be opened. One of them is the Center of Hematology, which will have a special department of transfusions. The second is just the Radio-Isotope Center. And the third will be the building of the Center of Disease Prevention.
Speaking about the Oncology Superiority Center, Armen Muradyan mentioned that this Center will be able to render services to 500-1000 people. In his opinion, the above-mentioned volume is only the starting capacity.

By the way, according to the Minister, the second phase of another large project, for which the World Bank has allocated USD 12.5 million, is currently being implemented. It refers to the new building of the Center of Radiotherapy.
